Martin Berkofsky ended his "Celebrate Life Run and Concert Series" with a concert for the people that
inspired his journey-cancer patients, families, doctors and hospital staff. These cancer fighters are the
very reason he decided to make a difference by running 880 miles from Tulsa, OK to Zion, IL to raise funds
for Cancer Treatment Research Foundation and awareness for Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
A standing room only crowd watched in amazement as Martin performed works from Chopin, Schubert and
Liszt, with another compelling encore of John Phillip Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever."
It was a befitting end to a miraculous journey that represents an undying spirit to make an impact
in the world of cancer research, spread a word of hope to patients and their families, and make a difference
for all of humanity. Martin has inspired nearly everyone he has met; runners, musicians, cancer patients, ham
radio operators and the staff of CTCA and CTRF.
A wonderful concert. A wonderful man. A wonderful journey. Thank you Martin!
A big thanks goes to the staff at Midwestern Regional Medical Center for their coordination of yesterday's
event. Thank you for all of your help!
